Not every person is the same, so not every home yeast infection remedy is going to work on everybody. There are ways to treat yeast infections at home without going to the store to purchase a treatment and being embarrassed by letting everyone know you have a yeast infection. The itching, burning, and irritation is enough annoyance, embarrassment shouldn’t be a symptom as well. For women who want to try treating their yeast infections at home here are a few yeast infection home remedies that have been used in the past.

Medicinal Remedies
Echinacea tincture can be taken three times a day as a yeast infection remedy. Echinacea helps to strengthen the immune system to help it fight off the attack of candida. Astragulus tea is another remedy that can be used. Some other herbs that can help by slowing yeast growth are rosemary, calendula, cinnamon, thyme and goldenseal.

Tea Douche
Making and drinking a tea or diluted tincture out of any of the following herbs: goldenseal, calendula, myrrh, thyme and chamomile. Douche with this tea once daily when you have symptoms. This yeast infection remedy shouldn’t be used if you are pregnant.

Tinctures with Oil
You can blend tea tree oil, or thyme oil and a tincture of goldenseal. A combination of both oils will also work. Use the mixture as a topical yeast infection remedy or anti-yeast lotion.

Vinegar and Water Douche
Using a vinegar and water douche is another effective way to alter the pH balance within the vagina and kill yeast. This treatment should not be used by pregnant women without authorization from their physician.

Yogurt
The bacteria acidophilus is naturally in yogurt so this is a popular yeast infection remedy. Eating yogurt regularly can help to fight an overgrowth of yeast. Using plain yogurt instead of the sugared yogurts can also help by not feeding the yeast.

Saline Bath
Adding sea salt to bath water can help by decreasing the yeast on the skin.

Tincture-oil Tampons

Using 5ml thyme tincture along with 5ml of calendula tincture then adding 5 drops of tea tree oil or thyme oil you can make the base for your tampon tincture-oil yeast infection remedy. Saturate a tampon with this mixture and water. Use this tampon twice daily, once in the morning and once at night for 1 hour at a time.

Chamomile

While you are waiting for your yeast infection remedy to cure the infection you can use chamomile cream to treat the symptoms and give you relief. Chickweed ointment works well too.

Oat Straw
One ounce of Oat Straw boiled in one quart of water then left to steep for four hours and finally a little astragulus added to fortify the mixture creates this yeast infection remedy. This should be used daily.
